Andaman Diaries – Travelogue

There was a time when we don’t have to think much before packing our bags and leaving for our dream destination listed in our bucket list. However time has changed since the time Lazy Yatra was born, we can plan a trip for the traveller at ease but planning a trip for us has become a challenge. Andaman was in our bucket list for a long time, yet we could see the gorgeous beauty recently, in the first week of April 2017. Earlier we had plan to cover entire Andaman, islands open for tourists, within 15-16 days but due to time constraints we could cover south Andaman only.

Andaman is mainly divided into 3 regions.

  • North Andaman
  • Middle Andaman
  • South Andaman

South Andaman has most known destinations of Andaman. It consists Port Blair, Havelock Island, and Neil Island. However few tourist travel to Baratang as well which is part of Middle Andaman. In addition, Rangat is also a part of Middle Andaman. Diglipur and Mayabunder come into North Andaman which is farthest part of the Andaman region and it is barely known to people who are travelling to Andaman. However these destinations are more beautiful and less explored than south Andaman.

As you are approaching Port Blair, the magnificent beauty of the archipelago becomes evident even from your flights. Various small islands, covered by blue sea, unite together to give you a majestic view of the enthralling beauty you are going to witness for next few days.
