Jaipur, the pink city, is the capital city of Rajasthan, and it is widely known in tourist circuit for it’s marvelous forts, magnificent culture and welcoming gestures.

Lot of tourists travel to Jaipur to start their journey in the ROYALNESS of Rajasthan. Jaipur is the first touch of royalness of Rajput clan. Other than Jaipur, Rajasthan has many other diamonds like Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Ajmer, Pushkar, Bundi, Alwar, Bharatpur, and Many more.
Jaipur has various places to travel but most important places to visite are as following:
Jaipur Important Sightseeing

  • City Palace (It needs at least 3-4 hours): Current Jaipur’s Raja stays in the palace and only half of the palace is opened for visitors. City palace has been converted into Museum. Most of the area is divided into various galleries where artifacts of the King and the Kingdom have been exhibited. You must hire a guide to understand little more about the history of the palace and Kings.
  • Hawa Mahal(1 Hour): Kings used this palace mostly in summers. All the windows of the palace are open. A small breeze, in the palace, can keep the palace and you away from scorching heat in summers.
  • Sheesh Mahal – Mirror Palace (1 Hour): Mirror Palace is famous for the hall which is built with mirrors.
  • Jantar Mantar (2-4 Hours): Depending on your interest, you can spend as much time as you want. It will take you through the scientific instruments which were used to understand about planets, and their trajectories especially SUN. If you love to know the functioning of the instruments, better hire a guide than a voice guide.
  • Amber/Aamer Fort (3-4 Hours): It is the largest and most famous fort of Jaipur. King stayed in the Palace before moving to city palace. A walk in the fort reminds the magnificent and glorious past of the kingdom and Kings.
  • Nahargarh Fort (2-3 hours): Fort at the hill. Nahargarh literally means place of lion, this fort was build at the top. But it was not inhabited for the long time. From the fort you can enjoy the panoramic view of the PINK City.
  • Ajaygarh Fort (2 Hours): Another Gem to depict the glorious past of the city. Currently none of the forts are inhabited but various king’s loyal are still guarding the royal forts.
  • Birla Temple (30 Minutes): Another Birla temple across the country. It is built with white marble and it is quite enormous. Though it is not really affiliated with history, it is more like a evening timeout for families.
  • Moti Doongri Temple (15 Minute): People who wants to see the power of faith, it is a must see place. The line on Wednesday is so long that it takes another hour to glimpse the Lord Ganesh.
  • Jal Mahal (15 Minutes): A palace surrounded with water. On the way to Amber you can see the palace. Entry to the palace has been banned due to the bad condition of the palace. But it is still beautiful during the sunrise and sunset.
  • Albert Hall: Showcasing the history of Jaipur and another significant artifacts, it is near the Badi Chopal.
  • Galore Chattries: All the kings have been cremated to this place. After cremation, a structure is erected in the memories of respected kings.

What to experience in Jaipur?

  • Pink City: All the buildings are painted in Pink in Jaipur. It would not need a keen eye rather just a simple observation.
  • Dressing sense in Daily lives: Jaipur is a capital city, so folks from various districts come to Jaipur and establish themselves. So they bring their culture to Jaipur. If you observe the dressing style of people, especially ladies, you can observe the huge differences in their dressing sense. Red, Yellow, Blue and Orange are dominant colors in Ladies. Rajasthani certainly wear colorful and cheerful dresses.
  • Snacks: We love snacks. You would love Samosa and Pure Ghee Jalebiat Rawat Kachodi who is near to Railway Station. You would love Lassiat Sreenath Lassiwala near to Rajmandir.
  • Tea: We love tea and prefer it our best companion even in scorching heat. In Jaipur you would not want to sit in an AC restaurant for a good tea. Find a TAPRI, a tea shop: where you see the crowd, and enjoy the tea at Tapri. Please note that now a days TEA is not as good at all the tea shops but still you would find few good TAPRIs who would serve you CUT Tea in INR 4-5.
  • Chokhi Dhani: You do not have time to travel the whole Rajasthan, this place would provide you the glimpses of Mhara Rahasthan. Chokhi Dhani is popular for it’s shows that are performed within a premise. Puppet Show, Rajasthani Dances, Snake Charmer Show, Magic Shows, Camel rides and ETC. The food at Chokhi dhani is also YUMMY. (Recently I have heard -Ve reviews of the place but still it is worth trying.)

Shopping
Shopping has been quite painful at such places now a days. Jaipur is no exception to that. Even government shops, which claims to avail everything to us in Minimum price, are not leaving any stone unturned to cut our pockets.
For foreign nationals, who are not good at bargaining, government shops are best. As per me, they do not charge Indian and Foreigner differently.
Otherwise Tripolia bazar is heaven for shopping. If you can bargain upto 25% of the actual cost quoted, then you are good to shop at Tripolia Bazar. Walking through the market lane will tempt you to buy something for family members who are eagerly waiting for you return or your friends who have been forcing you to see Jaipur for long.
If you could buy something worthy at it’s price, you would preserve it for years.

Best time to Travel
It would be best to visit Rajasthan in the winters i.e. October, November, December, January, and February are the best months to travel to Jaipur.
Though Second half of December and First Half of January would be  costly due to winter vacations and new year eve celebrations.
If you are looking good deals, then travel in July, August, and September. If it rained, weather in Jaipur would be pleasant and enjoyable.
Guys, if you know a little bit more about Jaipur which can add a bit while experiencing the city, suggest me in your comment. I would surely add this to the blog.
